It’s the middle of August, and my Instagram feed is full of glorious sunflower fields, almost exclusively located in Tuscany. Yesterday one a little closer to home popped up in my feed – 45 minutes away to be precise. This sunflower field can be found at Somerset Lavender farm, and is at its best towards the end of lavender season. Apparently it’s flourished pretty early this year.
My sister and I tried to visit Somerset Lavender a few weeks ago, only to find that they’re closed on Mondays, so we ventured to the Cotswolds instead. I’m glad we returned to the Somerset farm, because the folks there granted us permission to park Maurice the Morris Minor next to the sunflowers and Instagram him. That’s not something you get to photograph every day.
I accidentally added a heap-ton of grain to these photos, and double sapped away the greens because I ran them through Lightroom twice. But it’s almost midnight and there’s no going back now. You’ll just need to use a bit of imagination to bring the greens back. Thanks for letting us use your sunflower fields, Somerset Lavender!
